Edwin Rivas started 18 matches at forward for the Matadors in his final year with the team. He picked up two assists and finished the season with a total of 40 shots. He assisted on goals at Cal Poly (10/5/14) and in a win at No. 3 UC Irvine (10/25/14).

2013 - All-Big West Second Team

Rivas scored four goals and had four assists in 21 matches for the Matadors as a junior. Three of his goals came against conference opponents, earning him a spot on the All-Big West Conference Second Team for his work. Rivas scored the game-winning goal at Sacramento State (10/4) and also found the back of the net against Central Arkansas (9/13), UC Davis (10/6), and UC Irvine (11/9). His four assists all came against different opponents and were all in CSUN victories. For the year, Rivas took 54 shots and had 20 shots on goal while recording 12 points.

2012 - All-Big West First Team

Rivas had a breakout season for the Matadors in 2012 on his way to earning a spot on the All-Big West Conference First Team. He competed in all but one match for CSUN and finished second on the team with 20 points after scoring eight goals and four assists. He had a goal and an assist in the season opener against Portland and had two goals in a win at UC Riverside. The 2-1 victory clinched the Big West South Division for Northridge. Rivas also had an assist in the Big West Tournament Semifinal win over Cal Poly. He led the conference with 79 shots taken and finished tied for third in the Big West in points, points per game and goals.


Rivas completed his first season for the Matadors as a redshirt freshman in 2011. Rivas scored five goals and had 10 points, good for third on the team in scoring and tied for the team lead in goals. His goal in the final minutes at then-No. 7 UCLA was the game winner for Northridge as the Matadors completed a 3-2 come-from-behind victory for their first win on the road against the Bruins in school history. Rivas also took 41 shots and had 15 on goal and was named an All-Big West Honorable Mention for his performance on the field.


Rivas redshirted the 2010 season.

Santee Educational Complex

Rivas was a three-sport athlete at Santee, earning a starting role for the football team as a cornerback and the basketball team as a point guard in addition to playing forward on the soccer team. He graduated in 2010.
